Course Descriptions

All courses may be run on site or at our lecture facility. We facilitate courses during weekdays, weekends, and evenings.

CPR and AED

4 - 5 hours
Learn Basic Life Support procedures for adults, children and infants.

First Aid Level 1

18 Hours / 2 days
Learn basic information on injuries and illnesses as well as how to manage these.

First Aid Level 2

25 Hours / 3 days
This course includes more advanced details of the injuries and illnesses covered in the level one course, as well as medical emergencies, wilderness injuries and environmental injuries.

First Aid Level 3

40 - 45 Hours / 5 days
An advanced first aid course with including all the topics covered within the level two course in more detail.

Wilderness First Aid

25 - 30 Hours / 3 days
This course teaches emergency care for remote locations. A course designed specifically for those who work or take part in recreational activities within remote locations.

Paediatric First Aid For Caregivers And Teachers

12 Hours / 2 days
This course is designed to give caregivers and teachers the education and confidence that they need to care effectively for sick or injured children.

Sports First Aid And Injury Prevention

25 - 30 Hours / 3 days
Allows the first aid provider to effectively manage the common emergencies they will likely encounter on the sports field. This course also includes methods for injury-prevention, and follow-up management.

Oxygen Administration

4 Hours
This course teaches the components and use of a medical oxygen system, including the components of an oxygen system, indications and contra-indications for medical oxygen and supplemental oxygen devices.

Basic Fire Fighting

1 Day
This course includes a theoretical and practical component, teaching the theory of fire as well as allowing students the opportunity to extinguish a real fire with various extinguishing mediums.

Advanced Fire Fighting

2 Days
An advanced fire fighting course including all the components of the basic course as well as the use of a breathing apparatus, additional extinguishing mediums and the functions of a fire team.

Family And Friends CPR

3 Hours
The Family and Friends CPR Course is aimed at members of the public, family members, relatives and friends of adults and children at risk for sudden death. It is ideal for laypersons with no prior medical knowledge who want to learn lifesaving rescue skills for their loved ones. The Course provides a basic orientation to the skills of CPR and choking for adults, children and infants, and how to activate the emergency services. There is no hands on practise time included within this course. A 40-page Family and Friends CPR Booklet is provided to each participant for review before, during and after the Course. Two credit card-size Reminder Cards are included with the booklet, displaying the simple steps for adult, child and infant CPR, and providing information on the recognition of heart attack and stroke.

Heartsaver CPR And AED

4.5 Hours
The Heartsaver CPR and AED Course is designed to teach the techniques of CPR and choking in adults, children and infants and the use of Automated External Defibrillators to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in their occupation or workplace. The Course is ideal for security personnel, law enforcement officers, fire fighters, lifeguards, swimming coaches, health and fitness staff, corporate and retail employees and other lay responders who might be exposed to, or have access to, an Automated External Defibrillator. The Course provides hands-on practice in the skills of CPR and choking for adults, children and infants, including barrier devices, pocket masks, the use of Automated External Defibrillators, and how to activate the emergency services. A 56-page Heartsaver CPR and AED Student Workbook is provided to each participant for review before, during and after the Course. Two credit card-size Reminder Cards are included with the Workbook, displaying the simple steps for adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, and also provides information on the recognition of heart attack and stroke.

Heartsaver First Aid, CPR And AED

8 Hours
This course includes all topics covered within the Heartsaver CPR and AED course, as well as basic first aid skills. A manual is provided to each course participant for review before, during and after the course. Two credit card reminder cards are included within the workbook.

Basic Life Support For Healthcare Providers

5 Hours
The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. The Course is also designed for anyone who is required to take a Healthcare Provider Course for employment. The Course is a prerequisite for advanced courses in resuscitation, including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Neonatal Life Support (ANLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) and BLS Instructor Courses. The Course teaches the skills of CPR and choking for victims of all ages, including ventilation with barrier devices, pocket masks, bag-valve-mask devices with supplemental oxygen, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators. A BLS for Healthcare Providers Student Manual is provided to each participant for review before, during and after the Course. For successful completion of the Course, participants will be expected to demonstrate proficiency in CPR and AED use, and obtain a score of at least 85% in the final written evaluation. For registered healthcare providers 15 CEUs will be issued on successful completion of the course.

Health And Safety Representative

2 Days
The health and safety representative course includes all the information and skills required by a health and safety representative to fulfil their duties within the workplace. This course focuses on the Occupational health and safety Act and the duties of an appointed health and safety representative.

Occupational Health And Safety For Managers

A course designed to provide company managers with the tools to fulfil their duties as denoted within the Occupational health and safety Act.
